Onze kite vakanties
Oceanbirdz organiseert geheel verzorgde kitesurf vakanties die net de extras bieden waar jij het hele jaar naar uitkijkt. Tijdens onze vakanties nemen we je mee naar de meest windzekere bestemmingen en kite spots die geschikt zijn voor elk niveau. Vanaf 23 jaar en ouder laten we je kennis maken met kitesurfen of leren we je de nieuwste technieken van deze mooie sport, uiteraard in de relaxte sfeer die daarbij hoort.
Op kite surf spots over heel de wereld organiseren wij vakanties waar je van beginner tot gevorderde jezelf kan uitdagen op het water. Daarnaast kun je 100% zorgeloos genieten van het vakantiegevoel omdat wij echt alles voor je regelen. Bij ons is het JOUW vakantie, niet de onze.
Al onze kitesurf vakanties draaien om die extra meters op je board, die lang gehoopte nieuwe trick landen of die extra meter hoger te springen. Hoe dan we dat? Bij elke vakantie van Oceanbirdz heb je supervisie en coaching van Nederlandse instructeurs of coaches. Onze coaches zijn IKO gecertificeerd zodat je als beginner ook een snelle en veilige start met ons kan maken.
Voor de gevorderde kiter hebben we trick clinics, videoanalyse en speciale progressie camps waarbij er zeer regelmatig pro’s uit de kitewereld aanschuiven. Daarnaast specialiseren we ons op de twintip, directional en foil, dus voor ieder wat wils.
Natuurlijk vergeten we niet dat je op vakantie bent dus doen we er alles aan om jou optimaal te laten genieten. Zo zijn we een van de weinige echte gecertificeerde en verzekerde kitesurf touroperators van Europa. In alles dus ‘de extra mile with a smile’
Ons team
Bij Oceanbirdz genieten we van een kite sessie waar ter wereld we ook zijn; na een workout in de ochtend om fit te blijven; het getij te zien veranderen terwijl de camper op het strand staat; een verdiend biertje te drinken terwijl de wind uitdooft en de zon ondergaat; naast het kampvuur nog een keer die gelande trick door nemen en alvast te dromen over de volgende; kortom alles wat bij onze mooie sport komt kijken geeft ons de kriebels om ieder dag weer enthousiast aan de slag te gaan. Onze goal? Dit gevoel met onze gasten delen en jou alles leren over deze “kite way of life”.
Travel (with) your mind; Oceanbirdz
Het gevoel van je eerste meters op je kiteboard zijn onvergetelijk. Elke kiter ervaart hierbij dezelfde adrenaline boost en eigenlijk ben je meteen verkocht voor de rest van je leven. Elke keer verleg je je grens op t water, maar gelukkig kan iedereen deze uitdaging bij ons aangaan op zijn of haar niveau.
Je eerste sprong landen of je eerste top turn met je waveboard; het gevoel blijft uniek.
Het “free your mind the rest will follow” moet wel geschreven zijn voor kitesurfen. Door jezelf fysiek uit te dagen bouw je aan je zelfvertrouwen en vergeet je de wereld om je heen. Ideaal om echt tot rust te komen van je drukke bestaan en je op te laden voor je volgende uitdaging. Bij Oceanbirdz, ‘you travel (with) your mind’. Geloof ons, de mind set en het zelfvertrouwen die je vanaf het water meeneemt na een onvergetelijke sessie, zijn waardevol voor de rest van je leven.
Vanuit deze gedachte is in 2014 Girlzactive gestart. Een organisatie specifiek voor dames kitevakanties die haar plek de afgelopen jaren heeft bewezen op de vele spots ter wereld. Met veel terugkerende dames zijn bijna al vakanties binnen no time uitverkocht en hier zijn Maroean en haar team uiteraard erg trots op.
Natuurlijk kwam er tijdens de kite reizen het verzoek om kwalitatief goed georganiseerde reizen ook voor mannen en vrouwen te organiseren. En in 2018 zijn we om deze reden Oceanbirdz gestart. Dezelfde kwaliteit, dezelfde ongedwongen sfeer en dezelfde mind set maar dan gemengd, voor heren en dames. Vanaf 2019 organiseren we alleen nog reizen voor dames&heren.

Maroean Mones
Owner / IKO Kite CoachAfter traveling all over the world, playing field hockey on an international level and being impressed by kite surfers ruling the sea, I decided to take my first lesson at the start of 2013. Shortly after this, I started wakeboarding, long boarding and took my snowboard of the attic as well. After a lot of board sport travels, I finally decided to share my passion with others all over the world, graduated for my IKO and started up Girlzactive in Nov 2014. In 2018 we expanded with Oceanbirdz to make the family even bigger. And in 2019 I successfully graduated as a life coach, so I can support you in and outside the water. ;) I can write many stories on how great our sport is and what happens during our camps, but even more I’m looking forward to meeting you during one of our events or trips so I can share my passion for board sports and the way of life that comes with it in person. Travel Agent / Kite CoachBorn and raised on the dutch coast close to one of the best spots in Holland. I grew up competing in sports, swimming, skiing and sailing. Soo salt water in my blood infected me with kitesurfing eventually. After high school I played professional rugby for several years till a knee injury forced me out of the game. I started to search for new thrills and luckily found it in kiteboarding. In big waves and strong wind you will find me my happiest. Oceanbirdz gives me the opportunity to combine my passion of traveling and kiteboarding. Hope to share this amazing sport with you in one of our upcoming trips. See you where the wind is!

IKO 2 Kite CoachMeet Kelly Schouten; After being a professional runner for many years I was stuck on some level and decided kitesurfing would be a relaxing hobby to do next to that. It's now 10 years since then and I chase the wind and sun all over the world. But I have to say my competitive side didn't leave me completely. That's why I have been competing at the European championship where I got 3rd, the Asian championship (2nd), the Dutch Nationals where I got 1st in 2014 and 2nd in 2015 and the Turkish Freestyle Cup where I became 1st in 2016! But what I love the most is the ride with others, learn from each other, motivate each other, sit by the campfire, drink coconuts and share great stories about kiting (mine: ride with dolphins). IKO 2 Kite CoachAs a young kid I spent every hour of the day on the beach, playing around in the water and with power kites. The day I turned 12 years old I had my first kitesurf lesson, and I was hooked! Whenever there was wind I was on the water. When I was old enough to start teaching I did, and I never stopped. After teaching for 10 kitesurf seasons, 9 winter seasons in skiing and 3 years at my own school; North Sea Watersports, I'm now also joining Oceanbirdz to share my passion for kitesurfing with you. Mariska Wildenberg
IKO Kite CoachGrown up with different sports around, always competing, finding new challenges and just having fun. From skiing, running, swimming, skating, soccer, surfing, probably every sport you can think of. With the mission: I never did it before so I think I can do it, I also started kitesurfing. This seemed to be the perfect combination of challenge, adventure and fun! A new passion. It all started with my IKO – license, this motivated me to kite more on the places I went for teaching all over the world. Before I know it I was going to my first competitions, like I always did in sports – testing the limits. I started making my way through the kite boarding scene, with the KTA, winning the PKA – tour in freestyle, race and big air, becoming Dutch champion big air, 6th on the Redbull Ragnarok, 4th on a world cup hydrofoiling and this year I became European champion Long distance in snowkiting. Life is never boring. That showed me that nothing is impossible. But I would have never reached that without friends and family, coaching and supporting me to learn that one trick, launch that foil kite or go kiting in zero degrees and snow. That's what I like the most, kiting together, motivating each other, having fun and the rest will follow! I hope to share my passion with you one day during the camps, and inspire you to follow your dreams - to do what you never did before!
Sander Bos
IKO 2 Kite CoachThis curly blond surfer was born and raised in Yerseke, a small town in Zeeland. He spent his youth riding every kind of board you can imagine, skateboarding, longboarding and snowboarding. In his adolescence he learned kitesurfing within a day in France and after a few days he landed his first trick ever. A new addiction was born! Every single moment of spare time Sander was found on the water. After graduating school his real kite adventure began. Brasil, Cabo Verde, Europe, Morocco and Venezuela became his training destinations. Together with his girlfriend and in laws they travelled to Cabo Verde and here the idea of 4Wind kite school was born. Ever since Ronald and Sander are working hard to expand their dreams in being one of the best kite school on the Dutch coast. Next to 4Wind Sander became Dutch champion freestyle in 2016 and in 2014 he finished 3rd of Europe in the freestyle competition and also 3rd in course racing. You will find Sander on a regular base as a coach in one of our kite camps. And you’re more than welcome to take a lesson with 4Wind in Castricum during the kite season.
